Rally program in Kathmamndu
In auspicious occasion of 27th International Day of Persons with Disability, 3rd Dec, 2018 NFD-N in partnership with Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen organized a rally in Kathmandu. The member organization of NFD-N along with KOSHISH participated in this rally with different placards on national and international theme of the day. The international theme of the day was; "Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality" and national theme was "Count me, include us." The total of 39 staffs and executive committee members along with members of Self Help Groups of KOSHISH participated in the program.
Pressmeet in Kathmandu
The press meet on the occasion of World disability day was conducted in the Union house, Anamnagar, Kathmandu. The program was chaired by Executive Director of KOSHISH, Mr. Matrika Devkota and the chief guest was Mr. Shiva Ram Achhami, newly elected chair of KOSHISH. 21 journalists from different media house participated in this program. The media persons highlighted on continuation of such program frequently rather than in the day celebration. The conceptual clarity regarding psychosocial disability and current status of mental health were discussed in the meet facilitated by Mr. Pawan representing Radio Kantipur.
Program in Sindhupalchowk
KOSHISH jointly organized an interaction program with Paanchkhal Municipality on the occasion of International Disability Day on 3rd Dec 2018. The aim of the observance of the Day was to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. The event was organized to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
This activity was intended to sensitize the local government stakeholders and Persons with disability on the issues of disability and psycho social disability. In the program, basic concept of psycho social disability was discussed and promoted among the participants and the rights of persons with disability was discussed. Mr. Sanjay Raj Neupane, Secretary and Self activist from KOSHISH, facilitated the discussion on disability. Similarly Mrs. Laxmi KC, Chief of Women and Children Unit discussed the current provision of disability card regulation in the context.
Program in Tanahu
KOSHISH participated in rally organized by CBR Network, Tanahu and RECED to mark auspicious occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 2018. The rally encircled the Byas municipality and ended up as gathering in city hall of municipality. The gathering was chaired by Deputy Mayor Mrs. Meera Joshi, coordinator to disability coordination committee as interaction program on rights of persons with disability in constitution. The interaction program was ornamented by remarks by Mayor Mr. Baikuntha Neupane, Chief of DCC, Tanahu Mr. Shantiraman Wagle, Chief Guest member of national assembly Hon. Prakash Panth and Gandaki Province members Hon Dobatey BK and Shanti Gurung. The program also included the remarks from chief district officer Mr. Bharat Kumar Sharma, Chief of Police, Tanahu district, Mr. Shiddhi Bikram Shah and DCC deputy chief Mrs. Pabitra Paudel.
